At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Visakhapatnam, we believe that true education begins long before textbooks and examinations. The early years of a child’s life especially between the ages of two and six are not merely about learning letters and numbers. They are about shaping the foundation of who the child becomes.

A child who can read at the age of three may seem impressive. But if that same child struggles to understand emotions, express feelings, or handle small setbacks, we must pause and reflect. Education is not just about information, it is about formation.

The Power of Early Years

During the formative years, children are quietly building their personalities. Every interaction, every experience, and every environment contributes to their emotional and social development. At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, we focus on nurturing:

1. Emotional Security

A child must feel safe, valued, and understood. When children grow in a secure environment, they naturally develop confidence that stays with them for life.

2. Life Skills That Matter

Simple acts like waiting for their turn, sharing with others, managing small failures, and expressing emotions are not minor achievements, they are essential life skills. These experiences prepare children for real-world challenges far beyond the classroom.

3. Independence and Self-Belief

From wearing their own shoes to packing their bags and making small choices, independence fosters self-belief. When children learn to do things on their own, they begin to trust themselves.

4. Values and Character Building

Kindness, empathy, gratitude, and respect form the backbone of a strong individual. Intelligence without values cannot build a meaningful life. At our school, values are not taught through instruction alone,, they are lived through everyday experiences.

The Real Curriculum

What truly shapes a child is not just what is written in books, but what is experienced daily:

The tone of a teacher’s voice

The way conflicts are resolved

The encouragement a child receives

The respect they observe and practice

These subtle, consistent experiences form the real curriculum, one that builds character, resilience, and emotional strength.

Choosing the Right Beginning

When selecting a preschool, the question should go beyond “What will my child learn?” Instead, it should be:

“What kind of person will my child become?”

Because in the long run, life does not simply reward the most academically advanced child, it rewards the most capable one. And capability is rooted in emotional strength, life skills, and strong values.

At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Visakhapatnam, we are committed to nurturing not just educated children, but capable, compassionate, and confident individuals ready to embrace life.

Because education is not about raising smart children, it is about raising strong human beings.

Education plays a crucial role in shaping the minds and futures of young learners. It is meant to prepare children […]

Education plays a crucial role in shaping the minds and futures of young learners. It is meant to prepare children for life, helping them discover their abilities and develop skills that will guide them in an ever-changing world. However, many education systems around the globe tend to undervalue creativity, placing greater importance on academic subjects such as mathematics and language. In doing so, they often overlook and unintentionally suppress the natural talents that children possess.

Every child is inherently creative. From a young age, children explore the world with curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to take risks. They are not afraid of making mistakes; instead, they learn from them. However, as they move through the school system, this mindset gradually changes. Mistakes are often discouraged or even penalized, causing students to develop a fear of being wrong. Over time, this fear can reduce their confidence and limit their ability to think creatively and independently.

This issue can be traced back to the origins of modern education systems, which were designed during the industrial age. At that time, education aimed to produce a workforce suited for structured, routine jobs. As a result, standardized testing and academic performance became the primary measures of intelligence. Subjects like mathematics and language were placed at the top of the hierarchy, while creative disciplines such as art, music, and dance were often given less importance. Consequently, many students who excel in creative areas may feel undervalued and may even believe they lack ability simply because their strengths are not recognized in traditional academic settings.

In reality, intelligence is not limited to academic achievement. It is diverse, dynamic, and unique to every individual. Creativity plays an essential role in problem-solving, innovation, and personal expression. In today’s unpredictable and fast-changing world, these skills are more important than ever. Therefore, education systems must evolve to recognize the value of creativity alongside academic excellence. Schools should encourage students to think differently, explore their interests, and embrace their individuality.

At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, a best cbse school in Visakhapatnam, this balanced approach to education is strongly emphasized. The school believes in nurturing the innate talents of every student and providing opportunities for holistic development. Along with academic learning, students actively participate in a variety of creative activities such as music, dance, art, and cultural programs. These activities not only help students discover their passions but also build confidence, teamwork, and self-expression.

By fostering both academic and creative growth, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan ensures that students are well-prepared for the future. They are not only knowledgeable but also innovative, adaptable, and confident individuals. In conclusion, education should not limit creativity but empower it. By valuing all forms of intelligence and encouraging students to explore their full potential, schools can create a generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.

In today’s competitive world, communication plays a vital role in shaping a student’s future. Oral English skills are essential for professional success, especially during interviews, group discussions, presentations, and workplace interactions. However, in many schools oral practice is often overlooked because most board examinations do not formally assess speaking skills. Despite this, developing strong oral communication abilities is crucial for students to succeed academically and professionally.

Forward-thinking institutions understand that language is not just about writing exams but also about expressing ideas confidently. Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Visakhapatnam recognized as one of the best CBSE schools, consistently creates opportunities for students to develop and showcase their oral communication skills. Through various classroom activities, presentations, debates, and discussions, the school encourages students to practice spoken English and become confident speakers.

Importance of Oral Skills

Many students face difficulties during interviews or group discussions because they lack fluency and confidence in spoken English. Since higher education, competitive exams, and professional environments often use English as the medium of communication, it becomes essential for schools to train students in oral communication from an early stage. By developing these skills, students gain confidence and are better prepared for future challenges.

Need for Structured Oral Programmes

Often, oral classes in schools are conducted without a proper structure or clear objectives. To make oral learning effective, teachers need well-planned strategies and activities that guide students step by step in improving their speaking abilities. Structured oral programmes ensure that students learn grammar, vocabulary, and expression while actively communicating.

Strategies to Develop Oral Skills

There are several effective strategies that teachers can use to strengthen students’ speaking abilities:

Practice Tenses through Speaking: Students can talk about daily routines, current actions, and future plans to understand different tenses naturally.

Use of Modal Verbs: Encouraging the use of words like would, should, and could helps students form more thoughtful and polite sentences.

Short Speaking Activities: Asking students to speak for one or two minutes on simple topics builds confidence and fluency.

Vocabulary Development: Students should learn to use words in different forms to enrich their language.

Describing People: Activities where students describe a person’s appearance, personality, and behaviour help improve descriptive language.

Phrase Chunks: Teaching phrases and idiomatic expressions helps students sound more natural and expressive.

Discuss Familiar Topics: Topics such as food, family, and fun help students express their thoughts comfortably.

Giving Compliments: Learning to appreciate others politely encourages positive communication and language usage.

Oral communication is a powerful life skill that helps students succeed beyond the classroom. When teachers intentionally design activities that encourage speaking, students develop fluency, confidence, and clarity in their communication. By providing platforms for discussions, presentations, and interactive learning, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Visakhapatnam continues to nurture confident communicators who are well prepared for professional success in the future.

The early years of a child’s life are the most important for brain development. Research shows that almost 90% of a child’s brain develops by the age of six. During this stage, the experiences children receive play a crucial role in shaping their learning ability, creativity, confidence and problem-solving skills.

The five simple yet powerful activities that parents and school can encourage to help improve their child’s brain sharpness and overall development.

Encourage Painting and Creative Art

Painting is more than just fun. It helps activate both the right and left sides of the brain. While the right brain manages creativity and imagination, the left brain handles logic and coordination. When children paint, they improve their creativity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to express emotions.

Dancing for Brain and Body Development

Dancing is a wonderful activity that supports both physical and neurological development. It strengthens neural connections in the brain, improves coordination, and boosts confidence. Children who dance regularly tend to develop better rhythm, body awareness and self-expression.

Musical Activities Build Attention and Confidence

Introducing children to musical activities such as drumming or playing simple musical instruments helps improve their attention span and listening skills. Music stimulates multiple areas of the brain and encourages focus, memory development and self-confidence.

Board Games Improve Cognitive Thinking

Simple board games are excellent tools for developing logical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Through games, children learn patience, strategy and decision-making. These skills strengthen cognitive development and prepare children for future learning challenges.

Ensure Proper Sleep Every Day

Good sleep is essential for a child’s brain development. After a day full of learning and activities, quality sleep helps the brain process and store new information. Adequate rest also supports emotional balance, concentration and overall growth.

Nurturing Young Minds at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan Play School

At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan Play School, Visakhapatnam, children are encouraged to explore and experience these important brain-development activities from the age of 2.5 years. Through a balanced mix of creative arts, music, dance, play, and structured learning, the school creates an environment where young minds can grow, explore, and develop essential life skills.

By introducing these five activities early in life, parents and educators can help children build a strong foundation for learning, creativity, and confidence in the years ahead.

International Women’s Day is not just a celebration, it is a reminder of the incredible journey of a woman and the powerful roles she plays in shaping families, communities, and the world. Every woman’s life is a beautiful metamorphosis, filled with love, sacrifice, resilience, and endless strength.

Her story often begins as a cute daughter, the little light of her parents’ home, bringing laughter and happiness into their lives. As she grows, she becomes a loving sister, a friend, a protector, and a guide to her siblings. With time, she blossoms into a passionate lover, someone who believes deeply in the beauty of companionship.

Life then entrusts her with greater responsibilities as a responsible wife, standing strong beside her partner, sharing dreams and challenges alike. Soon she becomes a caring mother, nurturing young lives with patience, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her sacrifices quietly shape the future of her children and the generations that follow.

And one day, she becomes an affectionate grandmother, a gentle storyteller whose life experiences become lessons for the family. Her journey reflects love, courage, and selfless dedication.

Women have played a vital role in shaping the progress and identity of our nation through their remarkable contributions in diverse fields. From education, science, medicine, and technology to politics, sports, defence, arts and social service, women continue to inspire generations with their dedication and achievements. Visionary leaders like Sarojini Naidu and Indira Gandhi demonstrated strong leadership in shaping the country’s political landscape, while pioneers such as Kalpana Chawla showed the world that Indian women can reach even the stars. In sports, champions like P. V. Sindhu and Mary Kom have brought global recognition to India through their perseverance and excellence. Countless women teachers, doctors, scientists, entrepreneurs, and social reformers work tirelessly every day to build stronger communities and a brighter future for the nation. Their courage, intelligence, and compassion continue to drive social progress, proving that when women are empowered, the entire nation moves forward.

On this Women’s Day, we celebrate the spirit of womanhood, the strength that uplifts generations, the compassion that heals hearts, and the determination that transforms the world.

At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, one of the best CBSE schools in Visakhapatnam, we believe that empowering girls today creates confident leaders of tomorrow. Our institution is committed to nurturing young girls with the knowledge, confidence, and life skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

Alongside academic excellence, students are trained in technology, innovation, and essential life skills, preparing them to meet the challenges of the evolving world with courage and confidence.

By fostering independence, resilience, and leadership, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan empowers every girl child to rise, shine, and make a meaningful difference in society.

This International Women’s Day, let us celebrate every daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who shapes the world with love and strength. Together, let us continue to support and empower girls so they can grow into confident women who inspire generations to come.

In a world that’s changing faster than ever before, education is no longer just about textbooks, exams, and grades. Today, the goal of education has evolved to something far greater: nurturing young minds to become capable, compassionate, and confident individuals who can thrive in any environment. This is where holistic education takes centre stage, and at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, we’ve made it the heart of our approach.

Holistic education is the philosophy of educating the whole child – mind, body, and spirit. It goes beyond academic excellence to develop emotional intelligence, critical thinking, communication, creativity and ethical values. In a rapidly evolving 21st-century landscape, these skills are not just useful—they’re essential.

At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, we view education not as a race to the top but as a journey of joyful learning and holistic growth. With campuses in Pendurthi, Seethammadhara and Kapuluppada in Visakhapatnam, our schools offer a nurturing environment from play school to Class 12, aligned with Cambridge International and CBSE curricula with a vision Nurture joyful learning through holistic growth.

A Curriculum Designed for the 21st Century Learner

At Sri Prakash, learning is student-centric and experiential. Our pedagogy blends academic rigour with real-world relevance:

Tailored Teaching: A favourable teacher-student ratio allows for personalised attention.

Technology Integration: Smart classrooms and digital tools help teachers adapt to every child’s learning pace and style.

Communication Skills: Dedicated time is given to enhance students’ verbal and written expression.

Balance Between Academics and Activities

The school curriculum is thoughtfully divided to balance academics and activities. For instance, a Grade I student spends about 60% on academics and 40% on activities, ensuring emotional and creative growth. By Grade X, this gradually shifts to 80% academics, aligning with board exam preparedness.

Experiential Learning: Beyond the Classroom

Holistic development thrives on hands-on experiences, and our programs reflect that:

Artmosphere

A vibrant space where creativity flourishes through art and craft sessions during activity periods.

Clubs for Every Interest

From Science, Arts, Math, and Dramatics Clubs to Avishkar, Speakers Forum, and Interact Club, students explore their passions. They also learn musical instruments like the Guitar, Keyboard, Tabla, and Congo, and practice Yoga to channel their energy productively.

Workshops and Masterminds

We regularly host industry experts and thought leaders through workshops and events like Masterminds, offering students a window into real-world career paths and success stories.

A Rich Tapestry of Activities

Our co-curricular and extracurricular calendar is designed to ignite imagination, foster collaboration, and develop leadership:

National & International Study Tours (China, Singapore, Rome, Dubai, etc.)

English Enrichment & Reading Month Observations

These programs empower students to engage with global issues, build empathy, and develop a sense of civic responsibility.

Academic Enrichment Through Engagement

We believe assessments should be more than just marks on a paper—they should reflect understanding and application:

Scholastic Activities: Competitions in calligraphy, recitation, spell bee, quizzes, and creative writing.

Co-Scholastic Activities: Cookalicious, photography, quiz clubs, and literary events to tap into students’ varied talents.

Faculty That Makes a Difference

Our teachers are not just educators—they’re mentors, guides and role models. Skilled in communication, collaboration and empathy, they foster a classroom environment where curiosity is celebrated and every child feels seen and supported.

Preparing Students for Life: Career Guidance and Counselling

At Sri Prakash, we prepare students not just for exams, but for life. Through timely counselling, aptitude assessments and expert-led guidance, we help students choose careers aligned with their strengths and aspirations. Whether it’s engineering, medicine, arts, business, or research, our students are equipped to make informed choices.

A World of Exposure: National and International Tours

Our vision to broaden students’ exposure inspires them to participate in global activities such as Model United Nations (MUN), student exchange programmes and international tours, fostering a wider global perspective and encouraging cultural exchange. Learning isn’t confined to classrooms. Our students have walked the streets of Rome, explored innovations in Shanghai, visited cultural hubs in Malaysia, and discovered India’s diversity across Kerala, Delhi, Rajasthan, and more. These tours provide cross-cultural experiences that build global citizens.

Why Holistic Education is the Need of the Hour

In the 21st century, success belongs to those who can think critically, collaborate effectively, communicate with clarity, and lead with empathy. At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, we are proud to be nurturing such individuals through a holistic, balanced and joyful education.

We don’t just teach subjects—we help children discover themselves.

Because at Sri Prakash, we believe that enriching life through education isn’t just a motto, it’s our mission.
